Engine Workshop
Since the 1920’s Frydenbø Industri has seen the industry’s need for quality engines and service on those, especially illustrated through our own brand Sabb. Frydenbø Industri have since that time built up a well-equipped engine workshop with experienced professionals at all our locations.
We are especially proud of our interdisciplinary expertise and experience when it comes to service and repairs on electrical, industrial and marine engines. The engine division also performs conversion and upgrades, as well as major overhaul of all our own engines.
With special tools, we can overhaul and repair most types of engines. Frydenbø Industri has broad expertise in auxiliary engines, generators and parallell running of these.
Ship engines
Frydenbø Industri can offer expertise on all of our self-developed brands, but we also offer our services on other brands. Experienced service technicians can do both overhauls, maintenance and repairs with precision and expertise, either in our own workshops or on board a ship.
Electricity and generators
Frydenbø Industri is a certified electrician with marine specialization. In addition to electrical installation, service and maintenance, our personnel have specialized in troubleshooting of maritime electrical installations and navigational/communications systems. We sell and supply power generators that cover most needs, and because of this our workshops will perform service on these products.
Workshop capasities and dock facilities
At our state of the art headquarters at Hanøytangen (Bergen, Norway) which was completed in 2015, we have modern equipment and machines for the work we perform. The company disposes a deep-water harbor with shore power at Hanøytangen, Aalesund and Øksfjord. In Øksfjord, we also have our own dock and a hall of over 1000 m2.
Industrial engines and breeding
In addition to being a specialist in marine diesel engines, Frydenbø Industri also performs service and maintenance of diesel engines on construction machinery and breeding farms. Our department in Oslo is specialized on DEUTZ engines and has a separate workshop dedicated to such machines. Service agreements ensures operational safety for the customers, and keeps the cost of operation and maintenance under control.
Lifeboat Service
Standard solutions are rarely common in our business, and with our OEM service engineers travelling world-wide we are used to seeing a huge variety of scenarios. The problems we encounter along the way are merely challenges to be overcome. After over 80 years of experience, Frydenbø have developed a high level of knowledge and expertise.
Our personnel are specialized operators with technical skills for our diesel lifeboat engines with specific knowledge in terms of engine optimization, and resetting of old engines back to original state – possibly also cross-checking engine output power with the additional installation of the Sabb Dyno engine dynamometer.
In recent time Frydenbø has been involved in several research projects together with some of the world’s leading oil and gas operators. As a result, we have one of the most comprehensive knowledge databases related to lifeboat engine life cycles, and the extension and optimization as of such. Today we hold the solution to lack of load running issues, and harmful carbon build-up within engines as a result – and the Sabb Dyno engine dynamometer is a result of collected knowledge in these studies combined. Travel missions / on-site service
Our skilled professionals perform service and maintenance on the components that need this. The company has its own service department for field service that travels to do the work at facilities both domestically and abroad. Our technicians are certified for work offshore.
